Chicago, Illinois, is a beautiful city with many stunning locations for a family maternity session. But in a cold December, we search for a stunning indoor location with natural light and florals. This brings us to Garfield Park conservatory. The lush greenery and vibrant flowers make for a stunning backdrop. The natural light streaming in creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
I arrive at the Conservatory
Thirty minutes before our family maternity session. Surprised to find that on the second to last day of the year- The Garfield Park Conservatory is PACKED. It is a welcomed challenge of creating angles that would make it appear as though we were alone. We start in the Palm House, which features towering palms and exotic plants that created a tropical atmosphere. The family posed for photos amongst the palms, the mother-to-be’s baby bump on full display
Next, we moved to the Fern Room, a tranquil space filled with lush greenery and a babbling brook. The family posed on a bridge over the water, with the mother-to-be looking radiant in a flowing floral dress. The natural light streaming in from the skylights created a soft, ethereal look.
Finally, we move to the Desert Room,
It features cacti and succulents from around the world. I captured some beautiful shots of the family in front of a stunning cactus garden. The mother-to-be glowing in the soft light.
